History of tyre

Tires are one of the most important components of the automobile, yet their origins date back long before cars existed. Some of the earliest rubber tires were fitted to horse-drawn carriages and wagons in the late 18th century to help cushion the ride. In the 1890s, pneumatic tires filled with compressed air came onto the scene, providing a much smoother ride. As automobiles began gaining popularity in the early 1900s, tire technology advanced rapidly to meet the demands of the growing industry. Brands like Goodyear, Michelin, and Dunlop mass-produced tires for the new motor vehicles. Radial tires were invented in the 1950s, providing better handling at higher speeds. Over time, tires incorporated new rubber compounds, belt reinforcements, and tread patterns optimized for certain weather or terrain conditions. Today’s tires are engineered down to the molecular level for maximum performance and safety. Advanced materials like carbon black and silica deliver long treadlife while sophisticated designs disperse water and braking forces effectively. Tires have truly come a long way from their simple beginnings.
