The rise of third gender
The LGBTQ community has made tremendous strides in recent decades in the fight for equal rights and social acceptance. While discrimination and challenges still exist, more people today are living openly and proudly as their authentic selves regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. It's encouraging to see same-sex marriage now legal across the United States, as well as gender identity protections in many places. Still, there is work yet to do to combat bullying, homelessness and health issues affecting LGBTQ youth. Overall the future looks bright as each new generation grows up with more exposure to diverse families and relationships in media and society. The LGBTQ rights movement will continue its mission of promoting dignity, justice and compassion for all.
